Artist Statement Art is my escape from reality. Every object seen creates or evokes an idea. These small vessels inspire me to paint memories not just of the objects themselves, but intertwining those of which I have experienced with symbolic attributes. The vitality of these vessels exists, but for the most part it is overlooked. My focus is based on the exploration of the disregarded, ignored, or overlooked realms of life that these objects lived in. I incorporate drawing into my paintings to help enhance the painting as a whole. The depth of truth is not the vessel itself, but the symbolic meaning of life verse time. The energy and depth of meaning in each vessel inspires me to continue exploring the realms of the passersby.
